Manvi Agarwal is an inspiring lady, who manages her profession and her start-up simultaneously without compromising the quality of work.

“Once you start with a journey there is no looking back"
Tell us something about your business.
“Although, I am an engineer and work as a developer in an MNC. I love making chocolates, so I came up with my start-up named, 'ChocoWorkz' from my home. Our start-up is based in Delhi and we specialize in hand-made chocolates.”
How did you get the concept or idea for your business?
"I have relished cooking since my childhood. I did my course for chocolate making during school.”
“After graduating and before getting placed, I received a teacher’s day order and gained a lot of appreciation, this instilled in me to create a page on Facebook but then due to certain professional circumstances the chocolate making journey came to a halt. Later on, It all renewed with the Christmas Carnival of 2017 where I had my stall. And then there was no looking back."
What was your mission at the outset?
“As of now, I receive my orders due to my connections. I want to expand and want to broaden the customer base. Other than that, I wish to have my chocolate studio.”
How do you advertise your business?
“I advertise my business through social media, sponsored ads, word of mouth, referrals." She further stated, "I have contacts with various social groups.”
What are your company's goals?
"I usually work on an occasional basis like during Valentine's weeks and festival seasons. So, I aspire to receive orders more frequently."
What are your responsibilities as a sole proprietor?
“From making chocolates in a very hygienic condition especially after COVID-19, and to make sure that it is delivered to the right person in the right hand is the major responsibility. “
She added, "I do not even charge my customer if they do not like the taste and I am open to all kinds of feedback."
To what do you attribute your success?
"My parents", continuing this she said, "Even after belonging to a family background, where girls are not given much liberty in the business, still the immense support I receive from my parent is what makes me say this."
How is your business different from your competitors?
She claimed that "Everyone is making chocolates as making chocolates is quite easy. What makes me different from others is, I don’t compromise on the quality. I use high-grade compounds and branded ingredients including Couverture chocolates. I don’t compromise on maintaining a proper stock and investing in my startup thus, giving a new variety every time to the customers."
Another point added by her is "My customers always appreciate me for my packaging. I pack my products in a way that I will receive it myself
Have you ever turned down a client?
"I once received an order from a baker and the reason behind refusal was again on a quality factor. Other than that being enrolled in a profession, if sometimes, I can’t commit to complete the order so I don’t take it; as I don’t believe in giving fake hopes to my customers."
If you had one piece of advice to someone who is just starting, what would it be?
“Don’t hesitate or pull yourself back from investing in proper tools. By focusing on the concept of constructive criticism she said, "Always have a positive outlook towards criticism as it will help you grow."
